Online seminar on "Horses in nature - and the nature of horses" (by Prof. Jens-Christian Svenning)

Join us for a presentation by Prof. Jens-Christian Svenning on Horses in nature—and the nature of horses
27 October 2026, 16:00-17:00 (CET), Online Teams Meeting
We look forward to seeing you and exploring the fascinating natural herd behaviour of cattle together.
The horse has a history spanning more than 800,000 years, evolving across diverse climates and landscapes. Far from simply being a domesticated "steppe species," horses retain the ecological flexibility and distinctive biology that make them important ecosystem engineers.
The presentation explores the horse´s evolutionary history, ecological role and potential future as wild species - arguing for genetically diverse, robust populations living under natural social and ecological conditions.
- The presentation will be held in English.
- After registering, you will receive an email with the link to join the Teams meeting.
